Product Description

The working principle of the fuel filter
The fuel filter is connected in series on the pipe between the fuel pump and the throttle body inlet. The function of the fuel filter is to remove solid debris such as iron oxide and dust contained in the fuel to prevent blockage of the fuel system (especially the injector nozzles). It reduces mechanical wear and tear, ensures stable engine operation and increases reliability. The structure of the fuel filter consists of an aluminium shell and a bracket with stainless steel inside, on which is fitted a high-efficiency filter sheet consisting of a daisy-shaped filter sheet to increase the circulation area. The EFI filter cannot be used in conjunction with a carburettor. As EFI filters are often subjected to fuel pressure of 200-300KPA, the pressure strength of the filter is generally required to reach 500KPA or more, while there is no need for such a high pressure for a chemical filter.

Classification of fuel filters
There are three types of fuel filters: Diesel filter, Fuel filter and Gas filter. Its role is to filter out harmful particles and water in the engine fuel gas system, in order to protect the fuel pump nozzle, cylinder liner, piston rings, etc., to reduce wear and avoid blockage.
Folded diesel filters
The structure of the diesel filter is roughly the same as the oil filter, and there are two types of interchangeable and spin-on filters. However, its working pressure and oil temperature resistance requirements are much lower than those of oil filters, while its filtration efficiency requirements are much higher than those of oil filters. The filter element of the diesel filter is mostly made of filter paper, but there are also felt or polymer materials.
Diesel filters can also be divided into diesel water separator, diesel fine filter. The important function of the oil and water separator is to separate the water in the diesel fuel. The presence of water is extremely harmful to the diesel oil supply system, rusting, wearing, jamming and even deteriorating the combustion process of diesel. Due to the high sulphur content in Chinese diesel fuel, it can even react with water to produce sulphuric acid to corrode engine components when combustion occurs. The traditional way of removing water is mainly precipitation, through a funnel structure. Engines with National III emissions or higher place higher demands on water separation, and the high demands require the use of high performance filter media.
The diesel fine filter is used to filter the fine particles in the diesel fuel, in the national three emissions above diesel engines mainly for 3-5 micron particles filtration efficiency.
At present, high performance diesel filters (to meet the requirements of the national emission above three electronically controlled diesel engines), including water separators and diesel fine filters, basically monopolised by foreign companies, such as, Mann-Hummel, Parker (Parker), Fleetgurad, etc., domestic national brands are: DIFITE.
Folded petrol filters
The petrol filter is divided into carburettor type and EFI type. For petrol engines with carburettor, the petrol filter is located on the inlet side of the fuel pump, the working pressure is small, and the nylon shell is generally used; for EFI engines, the petrol filter is located on the outlet side of the fuel pump, the working pressure is high, and the metal shell is usually used. The filter element of the petrol filter mostly uses filter paper, but also uses nylon cloth and polymer material.
Petrol filters are cheaper because the overall requirements of petrol engines are not as demanding as diesel filters due to the different combustion methods of petrol engines and diesel engines.
