The function of the oil filter

If the engine oil directly enters the lubricating oil circuit without being filtered, the sundries contained in the engine oil will be brought to the friction surface of the moving pair, which will accelerate the wear of the parts and reduce the service life of the engine. The function of the oil filter is to filter out sundries, colloids and moisture in the oil, and to deliver clean oil to each lubricating part.

Classification of oil filters
According to the structure, the oil filter can be divided into replaceable type, spin-on type and centrifugal type; according to the arrangement in the system, it can be divided into full-flow type and split-flow type.

Main performance indicators of oil filter
1) Filtration Efficiency
 The percentage of the number of particles filtered out by a filter element to the total number of particles of this size is called the filtration eFFiciency of particles of this size;
2) Bubble point pressure
 Immerse the filter element in the test liquid according to the specified depth and internal pressure, and measure the pressure value when the filter element assembly begins to emit the first string of bubbles.

3) Original resistance and final resistance
