The core of a vacuum oil filter is to create a low-pressure (vacuum) environment, utilizing the significant decrease in boiling point of water at low pressure to separate water. Its workflow usually includes the following key steps:
1. Primary filtration (pre filtration):
The coarse filter or pre filter element (such as 100-25 microns) at the oil inlet first removes large particle impurities and free water from the oil, protecting the subsequent precision filter element and pump.
2. Heating (optional but common):
The oil flows through the electric heater and is heated to a specific temperature range (usually 50-65 ° C, never exceeding the flash point of the oil! ).
Purpose:
Reduce viscosity: Improve fluidity, facilitate subsequent atomization and water evaporation.
Accelerating water evaporation: Increasing temperature allows water molecules to gain more energy, making it easier to vaporize in a vacuum environment. Improve dehydration efficiency.
Disrupting the emulsified state: Helps to separate emulsified water.
3. Vacuum separation (core process):
The preheated oil enters the vacuum separation chamber (vacuum tank). The container is vacuum pumped to a high vacuum state (usually with an absolute pressure of several hundred Pa or even tens of Pa).
4. Gas liquid separation:
The water vapor and released gas generated by evaporation are continuously pumped away by a vacuum pump.
Before entering the vacuum pump, these humid and hot gases usually pass through a condenser (cold trap):
The condenser is cooled (air-cooled or water-cooled), condensing most of the water vapor into liquid water.
The condensed water is collected in a water storage tank and can be discharged regularly.
A small amount of uncondensed water vapor and non condensable gases are ultimately pumped out of the system by a vacuum pump.
5. Fine filtration:
The oil that has undergone deep dehydration and degassing is pumped out from the bottom of the vacuum separation chamber by the oil discharge pump.
Before oil discharge, the oil will flow through a fine filter (such as 3, 5, 10 microns) to remove tiny solid impurities or carbides that may precipitate during heating and vacuum treatment, as well as residual particles in the system, ensuring that the particle cleanliness of the output oil meets the standard.
6. Output purified oil:
Clean and dry oil is transported back to the equipment oil tank or storage container.
